Jigsaw Design Placement

Jigsaw Design Placement Year

jigsaw-logo

I spent a year in industry working for local interior architecture and design firm Jigsaw Design as part of my sandwich degree. This year was the most transformative for me personally with a huge amount of design skills, knowledge and confidence gained whilst working on multiple large scale UK residential developments as part of a close team. Whilst only required to be 40 weeks, the placement was extended due to the value I was providing to the business, including:

  • Conveying complex architectural concepts and proposing alterations to developers, architects, and contractors via on-site meetings, drawings, and phone calls
  • Working with a wide variety of suppliers to find quality and cost effective architectural and lighting products to be specified in design projects to achieve stated design goals
  • Using AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and SketchUp daily at a professional level to create both site and tender ready engineering drawings, 3D concept models, proposal renderings and specification documents
